Webthe new vigo county jail was opened in 2022 with an inmate capacity of over 400 inmates. The jail generally houses inmates that are awaiting sentencing. Webwe’ve launched a new program called reimagining justice. Weba new program in vigo county is aimed at helping those inmates with the dual diagnosis of mental illness and substance use to stay out of jail and move forward. Webthat made the prison the perfect backdrop for the vera institute of justice, a criminal justice think tank based in new york, to launch its “reimagining prison”.
