Wossman High School
A comprehensive public high school with a proud tradition of excellence.
We at Wossman High School know that choosing a school can be one of the most difficult decisions facing any parent and we thank you for choosing our institution of learning to guide your .
Wossman High School, under the guidance of the Monroe City School System, opened its doors in 1966. We are fully authorized as Dual Enrollment School and offer Honors, Advanced Placement, and Career Technical Curriculum from grades nine through twelve. The Dual Enrollment program is widely regarded as a prestigious program of study available and offered to scholars throughout the state.
As a member of our community, you will immediately notice that we are a scholar-centered school, rich with culture and traditions. Our scholars come from varying backgrounds and we are immensely proud of how they show respect for their differences and individuality. Through the values of our academic program, they will learn to work together to become global citizens. On a daily basis, they demonstrate to us that they are respectful, open-minded and tolerant, and place great value on their education.
As committed practitioners, our staff at Wossman High School are experienced educators and the driving force behind the school’s academic success. Our classrooms are vibrant student-centered environments where inquiry-based approaches are balanced with direct instruction. Our instructors actively strive to encourage our scholars’ natural curiosity and love of learning. Most importantly, they take great care to support each scholar’s social and emotional growth to ensure we meet the needs of the whole scholar.
We also know how important it is to build strong parent-instructor relationships as we recognize what a pivotal role the instructor plays in the child’s life. As a result, we encourage parents to be active participants in school life and we welcome you to be part of our many events and activities.
Once again, thank you for entrusting the academic well-being of your most precious gift to Wossman High School and we look forward to you and your family becoming part of our community of learners.
